Mike: Hey, it’s Mike Hambright from FlipNerd.com. We have a quick Expert Tip to share with you from Bob Rometo who is going to share some advice on mantras for success.

This Expert Tip is sponsored by RealtyMogul.com, B2R Finance and AceBusinessFunding.com.

Bob: A couple of things I’d like to share with you that I think puts you in the right place from a consciousness standpoint when you’re dealing with a seller, and I always share this with the people that I work with. And they’re mantras. I’m a yogi, and we use mantras or meditations a lot in what we do, and what I teach. But I wanted to give you some related specifically to the home buying business.

The first one I think is very powerful and I use it all the time. When I pull up in front of a house to go to an appointment to talk to a seller, the first thing I say to myself is it’s not about the house. That’s the first mantra. It’s not about the house. The second mantra that I use is it’s not about me, because it’s not. That puts me in a space to really listen to the person that I’m dealing with.

And the third mantra that I use before I walk to the front door is no agenda. I really work to have no agenda when I show up, because I’m already dealing with the seller’s preconceived notions about who I am, and why I’m there, and their defensiveness, so that if I’m there with no agenda, they really don’t have anything to push back against. I’m just a sponge listening to them, asking them questions, and whatever shows up will show up.

No agenda allows me to remove space between me and the seller, and it allows me to ultimately be beside them solving a problem than across from them trying to get something from them. And I think those three mantras, if you remember them, if you use them before an appointment, before the phone rings when you talk to the seller, it’s not about the house, it’s not about me, no agenda, they’ll keep you in the right head space when you’re talking to a seller, you’ll have more successive and be more effective.
