We’re taught from a young age to always help one another. It was ingrained in us that “sharing is caring” and “it’s better to give, than to receive”.
We see opportunities to help one another all the time.
It can be as small as helping an elderly lady reach the cereal on the top shelf at a grocery store.
It’s the thought that counts, right?
But what about as you grow older and more successful?
Most people, in any industry, start out by living paycheck-to-paycheck. Months or years of having to decide what you could afford and having to sacrifice your “wants” for your “needs” was your norm.
Eventually, you get past that stage and you can start saving money for the future. This could be an emergency fund, a college fund for your kids, your retirement fund, etc. You’re finally able to have a little financial freedom. It’s then that you might be able to financially donate to someone in need and it not make an impact on your everyday needs.
In real estate investing, once you get your business off the ground, you can easily start seeing some life-changing profits that cover well and beyond your personal and business expenses.
Of course it’s a good idea to reinvest a portion back into your company to help scale it but at a certain point, your business will be largely automated and systematized so that you aren’t having to work 40+ hours a week.
What do you do then?
You can continue to stash away all your income for your family’s future and live a happy life knowing your family will be well taken care of for years and years to come.
Or…
You can use your success to help others.
We talked to some of our Investor Fuel Mastermind members and they’re giving back to their community as well as helping others in impoverished countries.
These guys not only are crushing it in the real estate investing industry, but are making real progress in helping charities in need.
Matt Andrews, founder of Real Estate Freedom, provides both monetary and hands-on support for 3 international programs.
In Jamaica, Ja’Mobility is partnered with the Free Wheelchair Mission to help provide low-cost, low-maintenance wheelchairs for those in Jamaica that are in need. Matt and other real estate investors have made mission trips to Jamaica to help bring supplies and assemble wheelchairs in a life-changing experience.

In Haiti, Matt works with the non-profit Children First, which is an orphanage that helps with housing, food, and education for orphaned children. Lately, they provided them with new uniforms, got the children enrolled in school, and are working towards being able to get the children adopted into loving homes.

In India, Khusi Hona is helping the community with education, rural health, economic development, clean water, disaster relief, and women empowerment.
As a board member for Khusi Hona, Matt has the ability to help from both the US and also by visiting the projects going on in India.

Back in the states, Brad Woodall, president of Arbor View Properties in Georgia, donates 10% of their profits to charity. He’s been able to help charities such as Dogs on Deployment, March of Dimes, and MikeRoweWorks foundation, just to name a few.
For 2018, Brad plans to work with Habitat for Humanity to build homes for those in need as a way to further give back to his community.

Brandon Barnes, CEO of Home Buyers Network, and partner Luke Petrozza, who are based in Charleston, South Carolina, helps Childhelp.org by providing book bags full of necessities to children from abusive and neglected households that are entering into the foster care center.
Their team also sponsors events for the Charleston Miracle League which helps handicapped children and adults play baseball.
Kevin Hames and his team at iDeal Floors has created a program for giving back to the community by providing free flooring to a DFW family in need, each and every month. Locals can nominate recipients who they know are in need and the goal for the company was to give $150,000 away in free flooring in 2017!

Mike and Lindsay Hambright, founders of FlipNerd.com, sponsor a student through the Star Sponsorship Program. The program is focused on increasing educational options for children in need so that they can reach their highest potential. They’re able to see the impact their donation has made, including progress and accomplishments their sponsored student achieves.

These are just a few of the guys in the Investor Fuel Mastermind that are going above and beyond with their generosity and kind hearts.

They’ve realized that through their hard work within the real estate investing industry, they’re able to impact so many lives for the better.

Acts of kindness like the ones mentioned above can change the life of someone in need. We can get so carried away with issues in our own lives that we seem to forget how tough other people have it.
Count your blessings and never take what you have for granted.
Never pass up an opportunity to lend a helping hand to someone in need.
You never know… it might impact your life just as much as it impacts theirs.
