Mike: Hey it’s Mike Hambright here from FlipNerd.com and we have a quick Expert Tip to share with you from Chase Thompson, who’s going to share a four-star General’s advice on personal growth.
This Expert Tip is sponsored by RealtyMogul.com, B2R Finance, and National Real Estate Insurance Group.
Chase: So, this tip here comes from a four-star General that is recently retired and is just an amazing person. Basically, the advice that he gave was that you always need to be pinging yourself against three people within your life. For an investor, what this means is that you need to find an investor that is way more seasoned than you. Someone who has been in the game for a really long time and you would love to see yourself have the type of success that they’ve had. You need to constantly be pinging yourself against them, from what their marketing is or what they’re saying or how they’re acting, to make sure you grow, right?
The next person is someone who is your peer. Someone who has been in the game as long as you have or at least around that same time, and you feel is extremely successful and they’re really killing it. Constantly pinging yourself against them, just to make sure you’re, like I said, continuing to grow, continuing to do just amazing things within your business.
And, then finding someone who is, he said your subordinate but of course he’s a General, someone who is new to the game, but you feel like they’ve been in it for six months and they are crushing where I was in six months. And, again pinging yourself against them to go, “Man, what are they doing. How are they doing it? How are they able to do so much in such a short period of time, that I wasn’t able to do.” And, by doing that kind of three-pronged way of looking at it, you just see exponential growth within your personal life, business, whatever, because you’re always kind of pinging yourself against greatness.
The two key factors are, number one change them as you see fit. And, number two, never tell the person that is on that list that they are on the list, to make sure that it always stays just within you and you are constantly pushing yourself against what you see that they do.
