Mike: Hey, it’s Mike Hambright from FlipNerd.com, and we have a quick Expert Tip to share with you from Shaun McCloskey, who’s going to share with us a great new tool for recording conversations and taking notes.

Shaun: All right, so first of all, in full disclosure, I stole this from my buddy, Jack Bosch. Jack, thank you for this great tip. It’s phenomenal. I just got this last week. It’s great. Go and download the app AudioNote. It’s really cool. It works on a Mac, or I’m told it works on a PC too. I’m a Mac guy.
Basically, this is a tool that allows you to record any conversation, and it allows you to take notes just like in a notebook. What’s cool about it is that while you’re taking notes, it’s timestamping your notes, so if you ever want to hear the audio part of while you were taking that note, you just click on that note that you were taking during that part of the audio, and it plays just that part.
In other words, if I’m sitting down with a live seller, and I’m at the kitchen table with them, I can open up my computer, and I can just listen to them while we’re negotiating or whatever. They don’t even know that I’m recording in some cases. In Missouri, it’s totally legal for me to record, so you may not always use it in this example.
Mike: Check your laws.
Shaun: Yeah, check your laws, but you don’t need to record a live seller, but you can use this in many different applications of taking notes. You can sit there, and you could be taking notes, and if the person says that the most important reason that they’re selling is they want to leave an heir to their grandchildren, then you write “heir to their grandchildren.” And later on, if you clicked on “heir to their grandchildren,” it would bring up just the audio where you guys talked about just that. You don’t have to sift through 30 or 90 minutes or whatever it is worth of audio. It’s really cool.
Mike: Wow. That’s awesome. If you’re like me My wife is the type that takes notes on everything, just a writer. I’m the type that doesn’t take any notes. She’s like, “How do you do that? How do you remember anything?” I don’t, but if I’m writing notes, I’m not paying attention to what they’re saying. So I don’t know what’s right, but it sounds like a fantastic tool.
Shaun: You can use this for a ton of different applications. I just came across this last week, and I’ve been using it a ton already. It works great.
